Radici Plastics INDIA PVT LTD is the indian company of the High Performance Polymers Business Unit of RadiciGroup, one of the world’s leading producers of a wide range of chemical intermediates, polyamide polymers, engineering plastics, synthetic fibres, with approximately 3,000 employees, and a network of production and sales sites located throughout Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

The Industrial Head will report to the Country Director. Direct Subordinates that reports to the position would be Supply Chain Head and Manufacturing Head.

This position would be Authorized to give directions to  Supply Chain Staff,  Production staff,  Process Staff,  Maintenance Staff.

The Industrial Head manages all the activities necessary to ensure the efficiency and the improvement of the production process and its maintenance, guaranting quality and planning defined by the company.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • ensure Plant Operations as per budgeted level;
  • develop budgets, approving expenditures for supplies and materials, and reviewing production orders for accuracy;
  • costs Controlling, monitoring every stage of production, analyzing current methods and developing new ways to save steps, time and materials in order to reduce costs. Initiating and implementing programs to control inventory;
  • ensure operational excellence;
  • define, direct and coordinate all CAPEX projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc);
  • assist manufacturing supervisors, engineers, and senior management members in the development and implementation of long and short-term planning, policies, programs and objectives at plant level;
  • develop, implement, and communicate the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to customer and company quality standards;
  • direct and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation;
  • direct and monitor production supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures;
  • identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap;
  • develop and implement  all Procurement and logistic strategies and procedures;
  • achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan;
  • act as liaison between management/ subordinate levels, to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results;
  • responsible for supervising and mentoring direct-reporting Staff. Direct, and define hiring, training, evaluating and discharging workers, as well. Responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace safety and formation of cross-training teams for efficiency;
  • assist in training and coaching for improved performance and evaluating staff;
  • take Corrective action on time, whenever required, in accordance with company policy;
  • ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department and EHS as appropriate;
  • direct and coordinate activities critical to support manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.);
  • work effectively and relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships;
  • keep abrest with latest technology related to specific fuctional areas to bring innovation and ensure compliance;
  • perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned from time to time;

 

The jobholder must perform his duties in such a way that:

 

  • all safety rules and company guidelines are respected and improved;
  • all company policy and procedures are followed and implemented;
  • a high level of quality is guaranteed in all internal production processes;
  • a transparent and professional communication is maintained with key Stakeholders and between departments;
  • all inputs defined at central level by global functions are implemented locally.

 

Knowledge and professional technical skills:

 

  • B-tech/BE in industrial, mechanical, chemical, polymers, plastic technology, related field;
  • preferably MBA in Operations Management, Certified project management;
  • at least 10 years of exposure in Operations and Project managment;
  • working Experience: background in polymer engineering, process engineering and material characterization equivalent to roughly 10 years’ experience in the same industrial sector;
  • language: mandatory good written and spoken English;
  • experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles, including but not limited to 5s, Lean Manufacturing, KanBan;
